Settlement Process
Don't be surprised if you find it extremely difficult to drop off your child in someone else’s care for the first time. You might cry. Your child might cry. Your child might be totally fine and that might make you cry harder!! Know that this is completely normal.

At WeCare™, we have devised a five-day settlement process to make the transition from home to school/daycare smooth for your precious one. (Although we are eager to have your little one, we do not advice you to go “cold turkey”).

  1. Day 1 (Monday): Two hours (9:30am to 11:30am) with only one parent in the classroom
  2. Day 2 (Tuesday): Two hours (9:30am to 11:30am) with only one parent in the classroom, take part with your child in the class activities
  3. Day 3 (Wednesday): Say “bye” to your child at the pick-up point/gate and be seated in the visitor’s lounge. If required, the class teacher will call you into the classroom. Let the child be with his new class for a minimum of three hours. Take the child back around 12:00noon
  4. Day 4 (Thursday): Follow the same process as the previous day and join your child during the lunch hour. Take the child back after the lunch (1:00pm)
  5. Day 5 (Friday): Follow the same process as the previous day but join your child after the lunch hour and help her take a nap in school. Please take the child back after nap at 4:00pm
Ensure that your pickup and drop-off times are predictable. Establish a good-bye routine with your little one
