The Toddler program is designed for children in the age group of 15 to 36 months (15 – 24 month olds are called Caterpillars).

Playtime, rest, music and movement, stories, art activities, water play, exploration, outdoor fun and lots of love make up the toddler day with an aim towards the support of personal and social growth, language development and independence skills. Teachers provide a setting which allows children to be creative and to explore their environment through their senses, by physically moving about and through social interaction with others. Toilet training is an important focus of the two year old group, beginning when each child is ready with the staff and parents working together as a team.

Our Daily Routine includes:
  • During the morning children participate in the "registration" and "circle time" which allows them to learn about their world through teacher directed activities
  • A healthy and substantial breakfast with fresh fruit juice or soup follows
  • Throughout the day children are given opportunities to participate in various Learning Centers that are designed with age appropriate activities and choices.
  • During the "activity time", children move freely around daily planned activities; such as art, science, water play, cooking, stories, puppets, sensory play, block building, music and movement and dramatic play.
  • Lunch is followed by rest time, utilizing individual cots. Children who do not sleep are asked to rest or do a “quiet” activity.
  • During the remainder of the afternoon our program is an open classroom. Your child will have an opportunity to pursue his or her own interests in various curriculum centers or to participate in planned activities both indoors and outdoors.
